Estate lodge. 1838-41. By H Park Street. For John Rogers. Kitchen added 1879. Killas rubble with granite dressings; dry Delabole slate roof with projecting eaves and verges with angled moulded fascia, moulded barge boards and exposed paired purlins with nail-head ends, 2 gabled dormer windows; 2 lateral rubble stacks, one in the angle and one at rear left, both with granite weatherings and brick shafts. Original plan L-shaped plus later kitchen at rear left. Tudor Gothic style. 2 storeys with 1st-floor rooms partly in roof space; irregular 2-window entrance front with entrance wing fronted by gable porch projecting forward on the right. 3-light granite mullioned windows with hoodmoulds to ground floor, 2-light windows to 1st-floor, all with C20 casements with glazing bars. 1st-floor left-hand window on moulded corbelled sill; window to ground and 1st-floor of right-hand return. 4-centred arched granite doorway with the 2 arch stones projecting as moulded kneelers; studded door with 3 vertical panels and small windows to sides of porch. INTERIOR: original panelled doors and other carpentry and joinery features but C20 staircase. Above the bay window is a frieze of carved panels some of which are probably C17 and presumed to have come from the Manor House (qv).
