Summer house or gazebo. Mid to later C19. Red brick in Flemish bond with sandstone dressings, fishscale slate roof. Octagonal plan on square plinth with weathered corners. Single storey under tall pyramidal roof. The north front (to the garden) has a Tudor-arched doorway approached by 3 stone steps with side walls; the other sides have sashed windows without glazing bars, all with chamfered stone surrounds and those on the outer sides protected by mesh covers. Cavetto-moulded stone cornice with carved ornament inset at each corner; oversailing eaves and tall steeply-pitched roof with apex weathervane. A conspicuous feature of the sea-front landscape, forming a group with the attached boundary wall (q.v.).
