II Cottages, now house. C18.

MATERIALS: Roughcast and rubble; Welsh slate roof with gable to left; central rubble stack with brick chimney; brick end stack to right.

EXTERIOR: Two storeys; two window range: C18 three-light casement to gable; C19 two-light casement to right. Entrance to left (to No. 9): late C19 part-glazed panelled door in moulded case under simple pediment hood; C18 three-light casement; C19 two-light casement under brick segmental arch; early C20 part-glazed door under simple pediment hood. Single storey wing to right: rubble with stone tile roof; late C19 plank door; C19 two-light casement; C20 garage door. Left returned side: C20 two-light metal casement, in altered opening. Rear: wing with C18 three-light casement, under brick segmental arch; two C20 two-light casements; C20 stack and lean-to with stone tile roof.

INTERIOR: Not inspected.

REASONS FOR DESIGNATION DECISION: No. 9 The Wych is designated at Grade II, for the following principal reasons:

* A substantially intact example of an C18 cottage * A good example of cottages built of local materials in a vernacular style
