House, now school. C19 with earlier origins. Dressed sandstone; plain tile roof; various brick stacks. E-shaped plan, with gable wings. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 9-window range: plain sashes in splayed moulded ashlar reveals and architraves; mullion window with 2 plain sashes, in gables. Central Early English style gable porch, with studded plank doors; flanked by similar fenestration; chamfered ashlar plinth. Right returned side: seven 6/6 sashes, some late C19, in ashlar reveals under stone lintels; 8 similar sashes to ground floor, under relieving arches. Further gable wing to left with 3-light and 2-light stone mullion windows with 4/4 sashes; stone stacks with brick caps; similar, scattered fenestration to left returned side. INTERIOR: early C19 staircase with moulded rail, turned balusters, and moulded newels with finials; mid C19 open-well staircase with cast-iron balusters. 2nd floor: C18 fireplace; C19 fireplace; C19 moulded fireplace with overmantel; panelling; coved ceiling. 1st floor: late C19, 4-panel door, and 6-panel doors; early C19 fireplace with marble surround; moulded ceiling frame; C19 fireplace; ceiling cornice. Ground floor: margin-glazed overlights; 6-panel doors; C19 tiled fireplace and overmantel; 4-panel doors and architraves (with display rails); C19 fireplace; decorated plaster ceiling; C19 cast-iron fireplace; book shelves; C18 fireplace with marble surround. Cellar: C19, 6-panel door; plank door; brick vault.
