House, now inn. Later C18. Painted brick; hipped double-depth, Welsh slate roof; brick ridge stack and 2 stacks to rear. 3 storeys and cellar; 3-window range: 8/8 sashes and, to right, late C19 twin plain sashes, under gauged brick flat arches; 4/4, and twin sashes over. Central entrance: double doors with fielded panels, and fanlight, under moulded and modillioned flat hoods on consoles and panelled pilasters; to left, C20, 3/3 sash under gauged brick flat arch; to right, late C19 shop front, with half-glazed door and overlight; plate-glass window; fascia-board with console-stops on fluted pilasters. Left returned side: 8/8 sash with C20, 4/4 sash over; half-glazed panelled door under simple hood on plain pilasters; 3/3 sash. Late C19 wing to rear has various sashes and 2 panelled doors, one with similar doorcase. INTERIOR: late C18/early C19 staircase with turned newels, stick balusters and swan neck rail; mid C19 winder stair with stick balusters to rear. 2nd floor: 2 early C19 fire surrounds; 3 early C19, 2-panel doors with architraves; architraves to windows and doorways. 1st floor: early C19 panelling; picture rails; dado rail; architraves to doors and windows; slate or marble fireplaces; 6-panel doors; wall cupboards; part-glazed 6-panel door and overlight; 4-panel door. Ground floor: mid C19, 4-panel door and overlight, to hall; 6-panel doors; curved screen with lights to hall; mid C19 marble fireplace. Cellar: plank door; stop chamfered ceiling beams; stone-lined.
