House. Late C19. Brick; Welsh slate roof; brick end stack with caps. 2 storeys and cellar; 3-window range: central stained-glass French windows to balcony, flanked by stone canted bay-windows with plain sashes; deep eaves on cast-iron brackets. Central entrance with part-glazed panelled door and plain overlight, under stone flat hood on scrolled consoles and moulded pilasters; flanked by similar bays. Stone band and stucco quoins. Ornate cast-iron screen and balcony. Right returned side: cellar door; small projecting wing with leaded casement under semicircular brick arch, over plank double doors. Wing to rear (possibly later) with raised stack with 2 caps. INTERIOR: late C19 dogleg staircase with stick balusters and moulded rail. 1st floor: casement with 12 Apostles stained-glass; C19 hobgrate with wood surround; wall cupboard; picture-rails; ceiling mouldings; architraves to windows; 4-panel doors with architraves; two C19 tiled fireplaces with wood surrounds; conservatory with polychrome tiled floor; round-headed cast-iron window. Ground floor: C19 tiled fireplace with later wood surround and overmantel; polychrome tiled floor to hall; early C20 double doors with coloured glazing; ceiling mouldings; C19 cast-iron stove in cast-iron fireplace with wood surround; 4-panel doors; kitchen dresser. and tiled floor. Cellar: stone-lined with some brick; plank door. (Pevsner: Buildings of Herefordshire: 190).
