GV II
School, now part of housing development. 1850. By S.Smirke, for Sir Robert Peel P.M. Tudor style. Rectangular plan. Brick with blue brick diapering and ashlar dressings; tile roof with cresting. One storey; 3-window range. Ashlar-dressed offset buttresses and coped gables. 4-light double-hollow-chamfered-mullioned windows; central gablet with escutcheon to panel. Right return has 4-light transomed window under dripstone and relieving arch with quatrefoil above; left return similar, with 2 plaques recording history of building: date 1850 in blue brick flanking quatrefoil. Rear has small parallel range with 2 hipped dormers; C20 porch to re-entrant angle. Interior noted as having arch-braced roof trusses with tracery infill.
