House, at one time a police station, now hotel. Early C18 with later additions. Brick with stone dressings; tile roof with brick stacks. Early Georgian style. Two storeys; seven window range. Cornice to ground floor; top wooden modillioned cornice; coped gable. Two entrances have architraves, friezes and cornices, six-panel doors. Ground floor has windows with sills, and rubbed brick flat arches with keystones over 20-pane horned sashes, but window between entrances has twelve-pane sash; first floor has round-headed windows with keystones and small-paned horned sashes. End stacks and cross-axial stacks. Rear has gabled wing with similar windows, attic has two small-paned horizontally sliding sashes; single-storey extension ending in late C19 cell block with ashlar sills and lintels to barred windows, return incorporates C18 garden wall; early C20 wing to right.
