House, now offices. c1850. Limestone ashlar with banded rustication; Ham Hill stone doorcase; hipped slate roof; limestone stacks. Double-depth plan. Classical style. 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window range. Steps up to Tuscan doorcase with panelled reveals and wooden fanlight in an elliptical arch; 6-panel door. Above is a flat-arched 3/6-pane sash window. To either side are 2-storey wooden and canted bays on stone plinths; ground floor has 6/6-pane sash windows with moulded cornice; first floor has 3/6-pane sashes. Hipped, shallow pitch roof with wide eaves on brackets; ashlar stacks with cornice to return walls. INTERIOR: the central hall has an elliptical arch and 4 panelled pilasters below a cross-vaulted ceiling with an ornamental boss to the centre; the open-well, open-string staircase with turned balusters, fretted ends and wreathed handrail and curtail step, is to the left; the stair window to the left return is a semicircular-arched sash with margin panes. The cornices are reeded, those to the ground floor have late C19 added ornaments. The first floor has a white marble fireplace with an arch-plate register grate. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: iron forecourt railings, long/short spearhead style on low Ham Hill stone wall flanking door, each section with an elliptical plan. A distinctive villa design, one of an elegant pair with Nos 32A and 32B Fore Street (qv).
