All windows are C19 and have label moulds; the first-floor centre is a margin-pane sash, all others are tripartite with consoles to the tops of the mullions; those on the ground floor are wider. A Tuscan doorcase projects into the flagged courtyard. INTERIOR: retains some original timbers including stop-chamfered cross-beams; most of the the doors are early C19 six-panel. The central hall is stone-flagged; an early C19 staircase with a mahogany handrail wreathed round a turned newel is to the rear right; a beam rests on the lintel of the tripartite window to the front. The room to the right has a similar beam and parts of a studded screen against the through-passage; to the rear end is a low Tudor arch; to the right rear corner more studding is exposed. The room to the left is of c1840 character, retaining its cornice, dado-rail and skirting boards; a black marble fire-surround, French windows with circular, semi-circular and margin panes and working double-folding shutters. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: C19 railings with foliate tops front the courtyard, the central double gates have a diamond-shaped frieze to the base.
