House. Architect G.B. Nicholls of West Bromwich; built for Joseph Fox Sharpe,
Borough Engineer. Yellow brick with stucco
dressings and gabled and hipped slate roofs with two coped side
wall stacks. Plinth, sill bands, dentillated eaves and
pediment. two storeys plus basement; 5-window range. Windows are
plain sashes. Left wing has two round-arched windows with
moulded heads, corbels and keystones, under an open pediment.
Below, a round-cornered bay window with enriched scroll
brackets to entablature, and three plain sashes, the side lights
with curved glass. Left return has a set back hipped 2-storey
projection, single window. To right, a round-arched window
with moulded head and keystone, then two segment-headed windows
with moulded surrounds and keystones. Below, a cast-iron
verandah, 6 bays, with lean-to roof and round cast-iron posts
linked by a latticework railing. To left, stone steps to a
stucco doorcase with pilasters and 4-panel door. To right, two
French windows with pilasters and overlights. To right again,
a set back 2-storey hipped addition, single window, and hipped
garage.
