GV II
Market cross and stone benches on site of earlier cross. 1869-70 (Walton). Limestone. 4-step platform and 3-step base to chamfered, square column surmounted by plain cross. 2 stone benches set as quadrants within pebble pavement on east side. The benches have slab pillars and tilted tops and were used for the sale of fish at public market. (Walton J E: Dalton in Furness in Old Picture Postcards: Netherlands: 1983-: PL 31).
