Details
WOODFORD - SU 13 NW 8/249 Bridge in tea garden at Heale House
GV II Footbridge over arm of River Avon. C19 or earlier, erected c1900. Red painted timber. Bowstring arched timber carriages propped from each bank, carrying a balustrade with stanchions capped with turned bronze finials. The end bays of the balustrade splayed outwards. Decking of spaced timber baulks. Applied decorative panels at junction of props with carriages. Part of the C19 tea garden at Heale House, and made in Japan based on the design of the bridge in Nikko.
