II

Farmhouse. C16, C17 and C19. Limestone rubble. Stone slate roof. Single-storey and attic. Five bays, with mid C19 brick front wing over part of bays 3 and 4. Bay 5, now farm store, has right lean- to to gable. Boarded door in 2nd bay, with roof extended down forming verandah. Open C20 porch to rear. Timber casement windows with timber lintels. Three gabled dormers. Two stacks. Interior: Cross passage in bay 2 behind major stack in bay 3 with chamfered timber lintel and stone jambs. Bay 2 has one pair crucks and higher roof line. Bays 1 and 2 originally dairy with cheese store through trapdoor over, now kitchen and attic store. Principal rafters have small stepped in curved braces set to lower part of wall and cambered collars halved over principals and single pegs. Bay 4 has canted external stack now enclosed in bay 5, formerly brewhouse, now tractor garage. Bay 4 chamfered spine beam has swept stop and notches.
