HILPERTON ROAD 1. 5411 (North West Side) Highfield and Fieldways ST 8658 10/294 II*

2. Circa 1858 with later additions. 2 storeys. Bath stone on coursed stone plinth continued as terrace from projecting porch to south and east corners. Basically a 3 bay front to south east with pavilion centre having decorative dormer gable and rounded corner to east. Venetian tracery on ground floor and mullion and transom windows with stained glass. 3 bay front to south west with large conservatory and wide 2 storey canted bay with pavilion roof. Subdivided windows, with Venetian tracery on ground floor. The north east front has unsymmetric grouping of a hipped roofed canted bay, and bay with a turretted bow and linking block and projecting 1903 pavilion with coupled window; and terminates in a turret with pepperpot ogee dome. Roofs with decorative tile work. Graded for conservatory which is aisled with triple barrelled roof having cast iron cresting, supported on delicate cast iron arcade; contains grotto of vermiculated stone. Various stable buildings of 1892 at rear included in this item.
