CHARLBURY BROWN'S LANE SP3519 5/17 (North-West side) Heathfield & Lower Heathfield GV II

House in row, now 2. Probably early C18 with later alterations. Coursed squared rubble; timber lintels; stone slate roof; 2 end chimneys repaired in brick. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. Heathfield (right) has 2 mid-C19 canted bay windows with large-paned sashes under a continuous moulded fascia forming a gabled porch over a half-glazed door. Plain half-glazed door to Lower Heathfield with glazing bars. 3 gabled dormers (C20, irregular). Date stone on Heathfield; R/WM/1673 in oval formerly R/WM/illegible, recut in 1983. Interior altered but probably has blocked fireplaces on ground floor. Position of earlier dormers visible in roof or purlins.
