The Post Office (on site of Portland House) TM 2748 3/73 29.7.70.

2. A modern building but incorporates some of the C16 plaster ceilings and staircase from the house formerly on the site. The staircase has the date 1534 carved on a newel, probably not contemporarily, Wide fire- place with stop moulded jambs and obtuse angled head, brick.
