Thatched Cottage
GV II
House. Late C17. Timber framed with colourwashed render and thatched
roof. Three-cell baffle-entry plan. Single storey with attic. South
front: doorway to right with C20 plank door to right of which is a single-
light window and at left of it a 2-light window to the roof, one 3-light
eyebrow dormer at right. At left is a 2-light gabled dormer widow. To the
ridge at left of centre a single-flue stack. Rear: lean-to outshut at
right and at left two single-light casements and to left of centre a
single-light casement. Road front: clapboarded. Plank door at right and
3-light casement at left.
Interior: Chamfered ceiling beams, plain joists and close studding to the
walls at ground floor level. Massive bressumer to the hearth in sitting
room, and jowled wall posts.
