BLOXHAM QUEEN'S STREET SP4235 (West side) 9/170 The Malthouse 08/12/55 (Formerly listed as Hillside)

GV II

House. C17 with later alterations. Regular coursed ironstone rubble. Steeply pitched C20 tile roof. 2 rendered stacks to ridge and to left. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys plus attic. Entrance now into barn on right which is not of special architectural interest. Canted bay window to ground floor is flanked by a 3-light and 2-light casement. Window to first floor has white painted stone surrounds with inserted casement and renewed (?) hood and label stops. To right a 2-light C20 window. Right end has a 2-light stone mullioned window with fragmentary remains of a hood mould and label stops. Rear: 2-light stone mullioned window to first floor. Interior: Stop chamfered beam and joists. Altered fireplace has chamfered bressumer. Stone flag floor. Wide planks to first floor. Winder stair with straight flight.
