TM 0534 STRATFORD ST MARY DEDHAM ROAD (west side) 5/22 - Teazles (formerly listed as 2 cottages 55 yds SE 22.2.55 of Woodhouse Farm) GV II Woodhouse Farm Cottages on O.S. map. House. Later C16. Timber-framed, rendered. Plain tile roof, red brick stacks. 2-storey L-plan. Road front: gabled cross wing to left with extension to left under catslide roof through which rises former external stack. 16-pane sash to ground floor at left otherwise C20 casements throughout. Gable to right bay. Off-centre ridge stack to right. Garden front: hall range has gabled stair tower linked to projecting cross wing by C20 glazed porch. Casement windows to hall range except one mullion window below eaves at centre containing C18 glazing. Cross wing casements flanked by restored ovolo mullion side lights. 1st floor jetty underbuilt, gable jettied. Interior: hall range has chamfered beams and exposed joists with tongue stops. Partly rebuilt inglenook with chamfered bressumer. Newel stair to tower. Cross wing: partly rebuilt inglenook with replaced bressumer. Chamfered beam and exposed joists. Frist floor: jowled posts, wall plates, studded walls exposed. Mortices for several diamond mullion windows. Several wide oak floor boards. Cross wing has small section of hand painted plaster in blue on white. Clasped purlin roof with windbraces.
