7/35 Wavertree Cottage and Moss Delph

GV II

Pair of estate cottages, c1850, probably by J.Thomson for J.Neeld of Grittleton. Rubble stone with stone slate eaves roof and diagonally-shafted stacks, 4 on ridge, 2 each on rear and east side walls. Two storeys, L-plan, picturesque cottage style with stone mullion windows. Gable end to road and west gable each have triangular bay with stone tiled roof and 2-light over. In angle is hipped 2-sided enclosed porch with shouldered-head doorways to south and west. Above on west wall is single light under eaves- breaking dormer gable. East end gable projects slightly beyond south wing and has first floor 2-light.
