SP3003-3103 BAMPTON HIGH STREET (North side) 13/75 Home Farmhouse 12/09/55
GV II Former farmhouse, now house. Early/mid C19 remodelling of older building, possibly C17 in origin. Coursed rubble limestone, stone slate roof, rubble stone chimney to centre, C20 brick chimney to right. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Upper storey has 3-light wooden casements, renewed C20, with single horizontal glazing bars and wooden lintels. Ground floor has 3 C20 wooden cross casements with segmental arches, and small C20 window with wooden lintel to left of door in second bay. Door is also C20, recessed, with C19 segmental arch. Later C19 wing at right angles to centre rear. Interior has some stop-chamfered ceiling beams in right bays. Included for group value.
