Details

OTLEY CHAPEL ROAD TM 25 NW (West side) 4/103 - Otley Hall Cottage - II

House. Late C16. Timber framed with colourwashed render and a thatched roof. Single storey with attic. Entrance front: Large C20 single bay extension at right, to left of which the original body of the house has a porch with a catslide roof at right of centre with a 2-light casement and a C20 plank door to its left flank. To the right of this is a 2-light C20 casement. To left are three C20 two-light casements and to the attic are three 2-light eyebrow dormers, all C20. Above the porch is an axial ridge stack of 2 flues rebuilt in the C19 and C20. Left hand gable end: one 3- light casement to the ground floor at left and a 2-light casement at first floor level. Slightly at left is a flat-roofed single-storey extension. Rear: panelled pargetting at near-centre and further extending wing. The rear of the main range has a 2-light and single-light casement at right above which is a 2-light eyebrow dormer. To left of this is the C20 extension.

Interior: massive, chamfered, late C16 beams to the ceiling supported on jowled wall posts with run-out end stops. Chamfered joists with barred run-out end stops.
