CORSHAM PRIORY STREET ST 87 70 (south side) 5/351 The Duke of Cumberland GV II

Inn, late C17, rubble stone with stone tiled roofs, one and a half storeys. 'L'-plan. Ridge stack, coped west gable and west end stack to main range, north end stack to north wing. South front, to garden, 2-window range of recessed ovolo-moulded windows with hoodmoulds, two 3-lights to ground floor, 2-light and 3-light to dormer gables. North side and east end are roughcast with exposed cornerstones. Rear wing has east side dormer gable with 2-light mullion window and hoodmould, casement to ground floor. North end, to street, has C19 ground floor 2-light window and flush panelled door in chamfered surround. Catslide roof on west side. North side of main range mostly obscured by C20 flat-roofed additions in angle, dormer gable with 2-light recessed cyma-moulded window and hoodmould. Various linked outbuildings at west end, including formerly free-standing, Bridgwater-tiled building with flush quoins and 16-pane west window. Interior chamfered and stopped centre beam grooved for partition and spine beam.
