II

House. Late C17 with C18 additions. Coursed limestone rubble with stone slate roofs. Two-unit plan with flanking additions. Two storeys and attic. Left-hand block. Integral stone end stack to left with weathering and oversailing cap. Central gabled roof dormer with 2-light wooden casement. Two-window front; first floor 2-light small-paned wooden casements with wooden lintels, ground-floor 3-light wooden casement to left with C20 concrete lintel and lean-to square bay to right with small-paned window. Central blocked doorway. Lower 2-storey addition to left (see straight joint) with blocked doorway (see straight joints and wooden lintel). Right-hand block: integral brick end stack to left. First-floor 3-light small-paned wooden casement with wooden lintel and ground-floor C20 plate-glass window with wooden lintel. Boarded door to right with wooden lintel. Two-light attic casement in right-hand gable end. Interior not inspected but owner (March 1987) reports semi-circular stone winder staircase and ceiling beams in C17 part. The building is situated at the corner of Boot Street and Well Lane.
