BREMHILL BREMHILL VILLAGE ST 97 SE (south side) 8/19 Three monuments in churchyard north of north aisle of Church of St Martin GV II Three chest tombs, C18, ashlar. From south: a) J. Hughes monument, about 5m north of aisle, late C18 with angle columns, two rococo framed north plaques with cherub head and sunburst between and two circular south plaques with plant spray between. Moulded base and cornice with fluted frieze. Inscription to Joseph Hughes Sr died 1782. b) Unidentified monument about 2m north east of a), mid C18, with two raised oval plaques each side, fielded panelled centre and angle piers, moulded base and moulded cornice with pulvinated frieze, broken forward over piers. c) Unidentified monument about lm north of b), mid C18, with two raised octagonal plaques each side, fielded angle piers and floral decoration to centre piers. Moulded cornice broken forward over piers.
