Details
NORTH LEIGH WILCOTE SP31NE 5/189 Wilcote Grange 22/09/83 GV II Farmhouse, now house. Late C17, with mid/late C18 and C19 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble; gabled and hipped artificial stone slate roof; stone left end stack, and ridge and end stacks to right wing. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys and attic; a symmetrical 3-window range to left of front. Late C19 round arch over 4-panelled door. Flat stone arch over late C19 tripartite sash with glazing bars to sashes. 2 gabled blocks to rear, remodelled in C19 and originally (in late C17) gabled to right; 4-window range right side wall has 2 mid/late C19 canted bay windows with French windows and sashes; late C19 four-pane sashes and gabled roof dormers. C18 outshut to rear left. Range to left of front, with stone slate roof and stone end stack; and, on first floor, late C18 six-pane sash and C19 two-light casement. Interior: late C17 butt-purlin roofs, with chamfered purlins. Segmental brick arch over large open fireplace with bread oven to left. C19 dog-leg with landing stairs. First-floor landing has reset mid C18 door architraves with heavy egg-and-dart mouldings: C19 panelled doors. First-floor room to right has early C19 fireplace with mid C18 scrolled architrave.
