MAGHULL, SEFTON LANE (north side), Stone structure approximately 70 metres to north-east of Manor House

(Formerly listed as Stone structure approx. 6m to north-east of Manor House (q.v.).

(Previously listed as Remains of stone mansion)

Stone structure, believed to be folly. In north east angle of moat. Date uncertain, but probably C18, incorporating lintel inscribed "RMK/1667". Dressed stone with brick inner walls. Approximately square; no roof. Wall has collapsed on east side. Entrance to south side has lintel with recessed cambered soffit. Door, now collapsing (1985), on strap hinges with overlight (not glazed).
