THE GREEN SP22SE (South-east side) 7/143 The Green and Blenheim Cottage GV II

2 attached cottages. The Green. Early C18 with later alterations. Regularly coursed limestone and marlstone rubble; straw thatch roof. One storey and attic. Boarded doors to left and far right, former with wedged voussoirs with flush keystone latter segmental-headed. Small C19 casement to left of each doorway, right segmental headed with eyebrow eaves dormer directly above. Small red brick ridge stack to centre. Blenheim Cottage. Early C19 possibly incorporating parts of an earlier building; later additions and alterations. Regularly coursed limestone and marlstone rubble; slate roof. 2 storeys. Four C19 segmental-headed casements directly below eaves and 3 to ground floor, one to left and 2 to right of boarded door under cusped gabled hood to left of centre. Right casement in position of infilled doorway. Integral end stack to left and ridge stack to right, both with red brick shafts, section to right of ridge stack possibly slightly later than rest of cottage. C19 lean-to to rear on right. [2590]
