GV II

Two semi-detached houses. Mid C18. Coursed rubble stone with chamfered rusticated quoins, tiled hipped roof, brick stacks to rear. 'L'-plan with No 76 on main front. Two-storey, 3-windowed; sashes. Central 6-panelled door in beaded architrave with pediment on consoles, 12-pane sash in beaded architraves either side, plat band at sill level. First floor has three sashes in beaded architraves. Attic has two hipped dormers with 2-light casements. Right and left returns have one sash in beaded architrave to ground and first floor, plat band. Rear wing has gabled porch to No 76, two 2-light casements and one 2-light chamfered mullioned casement, first floor has two chamfered mullioned casements and one 2-light casement, gabled attic dormer. Rear of wing has C20 casements and 2-light mullioned casements. Main range has external brick stack and lean-to brick extension. Interior has 6-panelled doors, central stairs with boarded-over balusters. This was probably the mill owner's house of the woollen mill and factory which stood close by up until mid C19.
