42/10008 Stables about 20 metres WNW of Corner Farmhouse

GV II

Stables. Circa late C17 or early C18. Timber frame, partly weatherboarded and brick infilled and faced in brick at rear east. Gable-ended roof clad in corrugated iron sheets. Plan: 3 bays, facing yard. Exterior: Ground floor infilled with common bricks has doorway to right of centre; weatherboarded above, with loft door on left and window at centre, both with boarded doors. The right hand (S) gable-end inside cartway has brick infilled timber frame. Blind at rear (east) and faced in brick with one post partly exposed to left of centre- Interior: 3-bay frame; one post on west front is reused moulded beam. Braces nailed to tie- beams. South truss has curved queen-struts to clasped purlins. North truss has queen-posts to collar with clasped purlins above.
