Lodge and entrance to Cliffe Castle
(Formerly listed under NORTH STREET (west side))

Lodge and entrance. Probably 1875-8 by George Smith of Bradford (as Cliffe Castle (q.v.)). Stone. Entrance has large octagonal piers carrying a moulded pointed arch, castellated parapet and turrets set inside the tops of the piers. Smaller flanking arch to each side, also pointed. That to left is attached to single-storey lodge which has Tudor-arched doorway, bay windows, castellations and clustered stone chimney.
