GV II House, early C18 with later additions to left and right

MATERIALS: Coursed limestone rubble, pitched stone slate roof with stone end stacks to central range and right wing

EXTERIOR: Single storey and attic. 2-window central range; lower 2-storey, 2-bay wing to right; single-storey, single-bay wing to left. Irregular fenestration of casements. 2 gabled half-dormers with C20 casements to central range. Plank doors to rear.

INTERIORS: Not inspected.

REASONS FOR DESIGNATION: 22 Taynton is listed for the following principal reasons: * Early fabric - a good example of a vernacular cottage of the early C18; * Group value - with Nos. 20, 23, 33 and 35 and other listed buildings in the village centre.
