GV II

Former mill, now house. Believed to be C17, but much remodelled in C18. Stone rubble (painted). Hipped slated roof. Rendered chimney on left side wall. Double-depth with stone cross wall. Lean-to addition on left side. 2 storeys. 4 windows wide with a further window in lean-to. Doorway (second bay fron right) and the 2 left-hand windows in each storey have tall well-cut voussoirs. Other windows have segmental brick arches. Ground storey windows have barred sashes: 6-paned at right-hand end, 3-paned (2 vertical glazing bars) in upper storey. Similar casements in rear and left side walls; former has 8-paned sashes in upper storey. Interior: not inspected, but seems to have been considerably altered. 1973 list description mentions chamfered beam with stops and wide stone fireplace. Stream passes under house; no machinery survives. Owner says it was a fulling mill.
