GV II

Public house. Dated 1691; rear range mid C19. Painted render with painted ashlar plinth and dressings; roof of thin C20 stone slates with coursed rubble chimneys. Rear range of coursed roughly-squared rubble with ashlar dressings has roof of Welsh slate with yellow brick chimneys. 2 storeys; 3-window range; rear range: 3 storeys; 3-window range. Main range has painted tooled surround to renewed door to right of centre. Renewed recessed 16-pane sashes at right and on first floor, and tripartite sash at left, have thin projecting stone sills. C20 flower box over door. Roof has swept eaves and stepped end chimneys with massive plinths. Rear range projects above main building and shows three 4-pane sashes on second floor with flat stone lintels; roof has end chimneys. Rear elevation has quoins, and flat stone lintels to door in second bay and top-hung 4-pane sashes with projecting stone sills. Upper windows in first bay have plain wrought-iron fire escape balconies and ladders. INTERIOR: not inspected.
