SX2453 FORE STREET, West Looe 857-1/4/74 Former Butter Market 17/09/73 (Formerly Listed as: FORE STREET, West Looe Premises of PA Shelley)

GV II

Former butter market. 1853 datestone. Slatestone rubble with some granite dressings; dry slate polygonal roof with deep projecting eaves and central bellcote with segmental-arched openings over moulded imposts and modillion cornice; small hexagonal plan. Single-storey. West front has central elliptically-arched opening with impost blocks, dropped keyblock and datestone above. Other elevations, originally open now with plate-glass shop windows with doorway to north-east side. INTERIOR ceiling with radiating tie beams of trusses.
