TEWKESBURY
TOLSEY LANE (South West side)
No 1

(Formerly listed as TOLZEY LANE (South West side) Nos.1 AND 2)

27/07/73

GV
II

House in row, formerly two. Late C16. Unbraced box timber-framing with plaster, brick underbuild, tile roof, brick stack. A steep-pitched roof over jettied upper floor, now underbuilt in brick but jetty expressed; gable end to right mostly rebuilt timber-framing.

Two storeys and attic, three-windowed. At first floor a small-pane C18 three-light casement to left, central two-light, and to right a larger three-light C19 with horizontal bars. At ground floor are three two-light casements with transom, with horizontal bar, probably C19, possibly earlier. Far left is six-panel fielded door under four-pane narrow transom light, and another, without overlight, centre. In right gable a good C19 attic light and a 16-pane casement at first floor. Small stack at gable end. The property is connected by a brick segmental arch to the adjacent Tolsey House (qv).

INTERIOR not accessible, but appears to be in poor condition at time of survey.
