GV II
Pair of houses, now 4 flats. Late C18, with facade to The Bank early C19 style; restored 1983 for Teesdale Buildings Preservation Trust. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings, right return gables render and rubble, with rear quoins; roof of stone slates with stone gable copings. 2 ranges of 2 builds, that to rear on an axis at an acute angle to the front range. Front range: 2 storeys; 3-window range. Ground floor masonry restored. Central 6-panel door and 3-pane overlight in plain stone surround; restored masonry around flanking sashes with glazing bars, flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills. Similar sashes on first floor. Roof has stone gable copings on renewed moulded kneelers, and end chimneys. Right return has plain stone surround to single small sash on ground floor towards rear. Gable of rear range set back and of rubble with quoins. Rear range east elevation has plain stone surrounds to central door and 3 windows. INTERIOR: not inspected.
