GV II

Pair of houses and walls and piers attached. Late C19. Thin courses of squared rock-faced stone with ashlar plinth, quoins and dressings; Welsh slate roof with stone gable copings and ashlar and stone chimneys. 2 storeys; 6-window range. Each house symmetrical with steps up to central 4-panel doors with shaped overlights in plain ashlar surrounds with segmental heads under rock-faced voussoirs. Tall canted bay windows flank doors and have plain sashes, segmental heads, and hipped roofs. 3 first-floor sashes to each house have segmental-headed ashlar surrounds and sill band. End quoins, eaves band. Roof has end gable copings on moulded kneelers, end and central chimneys with high plinths and stepped sloping coping. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: rock-faced garden walls to street and along returns have sloped coping, and tall square ashlar gate piers at corners and at each entrance with corniced pyramidal coping.
