Town house, now 2 shops. Early C18 and early C19, C18 range
rebuilt except for front wall 1988. Local rubble wall to C18
front (left), freestone ashlar front, natural slate roofs; one
on left has 2 gable roof dormers (copies), other roof has
hipped end behind parapet; slatehanging to right-hand end.
Plan of C18 part destroyed when rebuilt, original passage on
left widened, other part has double-depth plan with one room
at the front. 2 storeys plus attic (left) and 2 storeys;
overall 6-window range. C18 range has 5-window front. 3
ground-floor openings on right spanned by original flat
arches, other openings with new arches including widened
passage on left with segmental arch; original 12-pane sashes
with heavy glazing bars. Taller C19 one-window front has
round-arched doorway on the left with ashlar pilaster jambs,
moulded architrave, projecting keyblock and moulded cornice,
plain fanlight over 6-panel door; plinth, first-floor sill
string, moulded cornice under parapet with blocking course and
flat arches with projecting keyblocks over original tripartite
sashes with glazing bars. At rear is unusually tall
round-arched stair window with glazing bars. INTERIOR: C19
part has original open-string staircase, 6-panel doors,
moulded and carved plaster ceiling cornices and panelled
shutters.
