Pair of houses. c1840-50. By Walter Scott. Stucco, part now pebbledashed with Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, symmetrically planned with side entrances and 4-window range to main elevation, comprised of 2-unit plan to each house. Outer bays advanced, each with canted bay window with parapet to ground floor, and 12-pane sash-type windows renewed in original openings with entablature carried on brackets above. Central bays of rusticated stucco to ground floor with tripartite sash windows with cast-iron fluted colonettes, and renewed 12-pane sash type windows in original stressed architraves above. Moulded cornice and parapet over. Side entrances in moulded architraves with pediments carried on heavy brackets. The houses form part of the original development of Clifton Park, laid out by Scott as a villa estate.
