GV II

Canal warehouse, now workshop. Early C19; re-roofed and altered in C20. Pink and cream mottled brick in English garden-wall bond, on chamfered sandstone plinth; pantile roof. Castlegate front: 3 storey, 4 windows. Replacement half-glazed and panelled doors at right end; plank divided lifting door towards left end of first floor. All other openings are shuttered or glazed windows with stone sills. All openings are segment- arched except those on second floor, which have flat arches. Right return: 16-pane sash on ground floor, to right; to left, shuttered opening with timber lintel. Renewed fixed window in original segment- arched opening in gable end. Included for group value.
