ST67SW LODGE ROAD, Fishponds 901-1/56/1267 (West side) 04/03/77 Lodge to Handel Cossham Hospital and attached wall (Formerly Listed as: LODGE ROAD Lodge of Handel Cossham Memorial Hospital)

Lodge house. c1907. Squared red Pennant rubble with limestone dressings and slate roof. L-shaped, double-depth plan. Queen Anne style. 2 storeys; 2-window range. Hipped left-hand cross wing extends forward of the entrance, with a ground-floor canted bay with 6/6 pane sashes and a lead roof, and a tripartite first-floor window. The entrance tower to the right has a coped parapet with ball finials, and an enclosed porch. The right-hand elevation to the road has a tall round-arched stair window. INTERIOR not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: section of the perimeter wall to the hospital extends from the right, surmounted by a small arcade of dwarf Tuscan columns.
