GV II

Pair of attached houses, now flats. c1860, probably by John Gay. Limestone ashlar with lateral and party wall stacks, roof not visible. Double-depth plan. Classical style. Each of 2 storeys, basement and attic; 2-window range. A symmetrical front has projecting ends, banded ground floor to a cornice, paired first-floor pilasters to a dentil cornice, and an attic story with a moulded parapet with small pediments over the pilasters; entrances in the ends. Windows have elliptical-arched heads, first-floor bracketed cornices and plate-glass sashes: ground-floor 3-light bows to the wings with first-floor balustrades, 3-light windows above, single windows in between, and smaller attic windows with shouldered architraves. Entrances in the ends, that to No.30 set flush with the front of the building, have rusticated jambs to a semicircular arch with a 3-pane fanlight and 2-leaf, 2-panel doors. INTERIOR not inspected; details as Nos 21-25 Tyndall's Park Road (qv), which are near-identical designs.
