GV II

Coaching inn, now public house. Early C19, with earlier origins; later C19 alterations, and left wall rebuilt in C20. Rendered and colour-washed front, with painted stone doorcase; left side rebuilt in red brick in stretcher bond. Brick stacks at each end and left of centre of pantile roof. 2-storey 3-window front on chamfered plinth. Right of centre door of 6 raised-and-fielded panels in round-arched doorcase with plain pilasters, moulded imposts and cornice. Cornice surmounted by low balustrade of horizontal twisted railing on squat foliate standards. Paired 4-pane sashes to right of door, and single similar window to left; further left, paired single-pane sashes. First-floor windows all single-pane sashes. All windows have painted stone sills. Rear: catslide roof to outshut, beneath gabled dormer with C20 window.
