Inn. C17. Timber-frame and plaster; C20 plain tiles, 2 roof lines each with twin gables; brick stacks to rear. 2-unit plan. Left-hand unit: 3-storeys; 2-window range: C20 lattice leaded mullion and transoms set in studwork; 2nd floor jettied on enriched consoles with moulded bressummer; two C20 lattice leaded mullion windows set in box framing with chevron bracing; twin gables, jettied on moulded bressummer on enriched consoles, have studding and cusped quarter bracing. C20 inn front with entrances to left and right. Right-hand unit: 3-storeys and attic; 2-window range: 2 paired C18, 6/6 sashes in moulded cases: in studwork under jetty; 2 casements to 2nd floor, set in studwork; jettied dormers with leaded lights in moulded cases, scrolled consoles and moulded barge boards. C20 inn front with central entrance. Rear gable wings: to right, rendered with C20 fenestration, including canted leaded light bay to ground floor; to left similar, but retaining some earlier lights. INTERIOR: C17 panelling; exposed framing with passing-braces; chamfered ceiling beams; moulded plasterwork ceiling; C19 dogleg staircase. (Ludlow Historical Research Group).
