Thatched Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Late C17 with C20 addition and renovation. Box
timber frame with brick nogging on stone plinth and red brick,
with plain tile roof and large central brick ridge stack. Two
storeys, L-plan with advanced C20 bay to east and original lobby
entrance plan, two bay house to west. South elevation has a mid
C19 gabled brick porch with pointed door and pointed windows to
the sides. To either side are 3-light C20 casement windows and
to east the C20 bay has glazed double doors facing west and a
2-light window facing south. Above to west, two C20 casements
under eyebrow dormers, also probably C20. Similar window in
eastern bay under eyebrow dormer, and another in the south
gable. Rear elevation has the blocked remains of two 2-light
timber mullion windows and the original doorcase. Interior has
one inglenook fireplace.
