Town house. c1800 facade to earlier building extensively
altered in late C20; ground floor re-fronted in 1863. Stucco;
slate roof with brick cross-axial stack and end stack. 3
storeys; 3-window range, right end of 2 storeys, defined by
pilasters. Shop front with panelled pilasters and entablature,
round-headed entrance with fanlight over paired 3-panel doors
and flanking windows of 3 round-headed lights;
segmental-headed former carriage entrance to right end has
late C20 glazed doors replacing C19 infill. Upper floors have
2-storey canted bay windows with 8:16:8-pane sashes, possibly
C20; right end has canted oriel with panelled apron and hipped
slate roof over 4:12:4-pane horned sashes. INTERIOR: some
coursed rubble and early brick walling to left return; rest
much altered and opening onto shopping centre. The building
was the Mulberry Tree Inn from the early C19.
