History
North Walsham is a medieval market town that grew wealthy from the trade of wool and cloth. The town was largely rebuilt following a fire in 1600 but remained a significant market centre into the Industrial Revolution.
The building at Number 25 Market Place is probably C18 in origin. It is located on one of the earliest roads developed in North Walsham. It was recorded in the 1842 Tithe Apportionment as a house with [out]buildings and a yard. Alterations were carried out during the C19 when the existing shop fronts were added, and the ground floor was converted to retail use.

To the left of the building is a vehicle arch, above which there are sash windows each floor. There is a cornice band at second floor level. On the ground floor is a shop front with a deep continuous entablature and recessed central entrance with a tiled porch. The shopfront has altered C19 windows.
