6/139 Hallsworth Fold Farmhouse 17.4.1967 - II
Farmhouse, dated 1698 (front) and 1706 (rear wing), altered internally; now house. Coursed sandstone rubble, roof of slates and stone slates (part of rear wing), one chimney on ridge (originally gable) of rear wing. L-shaped plan, 2 bays with left rear wing of 2 bays (extended). Two storeys; hollow-chamfered drip course to front; to left, a 2-storey gabled porch with segmentally-undercut door lintel lettered in relief: I . H T . H, and at 1st floor a double-chamfered stone mullion window 16 98 with round-headed lights and hoodmould, a small hollowed circle in the gable; right side wall has at 1st floor a round-headed single light window. To the right, ground floor has 2 double-chamfered stone mullioned windows with king mullions and hollow-chamfered mullions, of 6 and 5 lights; 1st floor has stone mullioned windows of 3, 3, 3, and 2 lights. Left return wall has various stone mullioned windows which appear later, and doorway to rear wing with lintel lettered in relief H 17 I . A 06· Opposite (south) wall of this wing has on each floor a 4-light double- chamfered stone mullioned window with a king mullion, a doorway with plain lintel, and a modern stairlight. Interior: very large stop- chamfered beams; inglenook with bressummer; (the original staircase of this house has been removed to Nabs Farm, Back Lane).
